Chamber of Commerce, Service and Tourism of Chile Carlos Eugenio
Jorquiera M. signed an agreement on mutually advantageous
cooperation in Chile, Santiago. The group of
businessmen of Jordan visited Abkhazia with fact-finding visit. On November 22, the third South-Caucasus Economic Forum of Business Women was held in Pitzunda. During the forum they discussed questions of economic integration, development of financial markets and tourism. Delegations from Armenia, Russia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Nagorno-Karabakh, Turkey, and South Ossetia took part in the Forum. The president of Republic of Abkhazia welcomed the guests with greeting speech. The Forum organized by the organization “Business women of Abkhazia”. The Ministry of Communications of Russian Federation and Republic of Abkhazia signed an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of communication. The delegation consists of businessmen, owners of Telephone Company, the airport, a hotel complex, TV and Radio Company, the banker, the head of building company and the owner of the pharmaceutical enterprise. Representatives of business circles of Jordan have met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Shamba and president of Republic of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh. Welcoming visitors, Sergey Bagapsh told that Abkhazia is ready to discuss questions of development of economic and cultural cooperation with Jordan. Members of the Jordanian delegation have congratulated the president with recognition of independence of Abkhazia already by four countries. The Jordanian businessmen were interested in possibilities of opening of the aircraft service, the pharmaceutical company, a broadcasting company. The president has supported idea of adjustment of a cultural contact between Abkhazia and Jordan, and also realization of the joint TV project, and noticed that "Abkhazia, certainly, needs a wide satellite announcement on all countries where the Abkhazian diaspora lives". During the meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Sergey Shamba noticed that lately Abkhazia has signed a number of agreements on an establishment diplomatic relations with the countries of Latin America. "Recently we signed the Agreement with Nauru, and now we come into contacts in the Middle East. Abkhazia, according to Sergey Shamba, uses all possibilities to play a corresponding role in this region and to co-operate with all neighbors. The president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Abkhazia Gennady Gagulia has congratulated the President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russian Federation Evgenie Primakov on the 75 anniversary. During this visit, on an anniversary banquet in Moscow the president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of RA Gennadi Gagulia has held meetings with the heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The meetings had an informal character and the sides discussed the principles of further interaction. On 6. 11. 2009

Enterprises of Republic of Abkhazia.
The
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Abkhazia became
a member of World Chamber Federation.
On July 16, 2009 the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of
Republic Abkhazia and Russian Federation signed an agreement on
mutual cooperation. The document was signed by senior vice-
president of CCI of Russian Federation Boris Postuhov and
President of CCI of Republic Abkhazia Genadi Gagulia. From June 19 to 21, 2009
the international universal wholesale and retail exposition "Kursk
Korensk Fair 2009" was held at the town of Svoboda of the
Zolotukhino district of Kursk region. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of
Republic of Abkhazia became a member of World Chamber Federation.
The World Chamber Federation is the only world organisation
which represents business from all sectors all over the
world.The orgonisation includes the office of World Chamber
Federation which is in Paris, National commitees of businessmen
from more than 70 countries. June 16 th, 2009 – The Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a business meeting with the delegation from Smolensk of Russian Federation. In his greeting speech the President of Commerce and Industry of Republic Abkhazia,Gennadi Gagulia emphasized his fulfillment with the fact that the arrival of the delegation is due to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Smolensk. “It is the fact of high attention to the economic development of Republic Abkhazia. We are ready to any cooperation with all Chambers of Commerce and Industry”- said Gennady Gagulia. During the meeting they discussed many questions and proposals that interested both sides. The heads of companies of Smolensk expressed their desire to import their products in Abkhazia and presented the samples of their products to the members of the meeting. They discussed questions about finding ways of cooperation. In the meeting the CCI of Smolensk and Republic of Abkhazia signed an agreementon mutual cooperation. At the end of the meeting the President of CCI of Abkhazia Gennady Gagulia expressed his gratitude to all members of meeting and hopeness for the high cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Smolensk and Republic of Abkhazia. June, 10 th, 2009 - The delegation of Republic of Ingushetia represented by chairman of government Rashid Gaisanov arrived to Abkhazia.
The delegation included ministers of economy and industry, culture, work and social development, chairman of committee on affairs of youth, vice-president of chamber of commerce and industry Kodzoev Timerlan. During their visit a number of agreements were signed between: - The government of Republic of Abkhazia and Republic of Ingushetia; - The Ministry of Economy of Republic of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Republic of Ingushetia; - Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Abkhazia and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Ingushetia. In agreement on cooperation Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both sides promised to promote mutually development and strengthening of economy of the enterprises of two republics. Both sides stated that the signed document was the important step for formation of new bilateral economic relations between Republic of Ingushetia and Republic of Abkhazia which would be carried out on a long-term and equal in rights basis. May, 14 th, 2009 - 5 th Assembly of Noncommercial partnership “Business Council of the International Black Sea Club” took place in Taganrog.

April, 10 th, 2009 - International Conference “Independent Abkhazia: search for economic strategy” took place in Sukhum. The initiators of this conference were: noncommercial organization Fund of development « Institute of the Eurasian Researches », independent noncommercial organization « Institute of a demography, migration and regional development ».
Politicians, businessmen, experts, journalist from Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, South Ossetia, Turkey, Germany, UK, Slovenia and USA participated in this conference. These are the main questions discussed during round tables: “ Strategic directions of economic development of Republic Abkhazia”, “Accelerated development of sphere of tourism – “the locomotive” of Abkhazian economy”, “Development of a transport and power infrastructure, communication and media spaces of Abkhazia. The potential investment of the country” In his opening speech the President of Republic of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh said: “ Russian Federation is our prime ally and supporter. At the same time Abkhazia remains open for mutually advantageous cooperation with other countries. In spite of the global crises, Abkhazia is a fertile place with well developed infrastructure, defined market mechanisms. Therefore any investments into Abkhazia should be mutually advantageous. The sooner business comes to Abkhazia; the faster we restore our economy. We are very interested in this. By the end of the conference statements accepted by participants were: “First of all it is necessary to develop modern credit and financial system of Abkhazia, modern construction technologies; all kinds of communication systems accessible to the population, information technologies; a transport infrastructure, including railroad, sea and aviation. Development of the complex program of social and economic development of Abkhazia is necessary. … the most favorable spheres of capital investments are: tourism, construction of an infrastructure for it, sports, agriculture, development of deposits of minerals, power industry, sphere of services, development of a port facilities with prospect of transit of cargoes to the third countries, development of fishing industry”, - is marked in the final statement”.
May, 22-24 th , 2009 - International scientific conference “ Theoretical and practical aspects of innovative activity in conditions of global economic system” will be organized in the city of Mariupol (Ukraine) by the Faculty of Economic Theory, Faculty of Economy, Faculty of Intellectual Property of Priazov State Technical University with the participation of leading scientists to consolidate efforts of scientific community and practical sights at development of innovative activity during globalization of economic systems. Cases discussed at the conference: - Management of intellectual property; - Innovative activity; - Functioning of global economic system; - Strategy of development of the industrial enterprises in the various markets. March, 20 th, 2009 - the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Saratov and Republic of Abkhazia signed a cooperation agreement. Sides also signed a protocol of intention between the ministers of Saratov and the structural of government subdivisions of Republic of Abkhazia in the sphere of building, agriculture, education, health service, tourism and sport.
March, 2 nd, 2009 - The meeting of the President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennady Gagulya with the business delegation from Turkey was held in March 2, 2009. The purpose of business mission is to establish direct contacts between Turkey businessmen and Abkhazian partners; to discuss the prospects of cooperation, the attractive image of Abkhazia and the investments projects. During the talks they also discussed the projects of report of intention which was planned to sign in near future. At the end of the meeting the participants of the meeting expressed their desire for further development of trade and economic ties between Abkhazia and Turkey. February, 13th, 2009 – Agreement between Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Kursk and Republic of Abkhazia was signed in Sukhum. Protocol on intentions between administration of Kursk Region and the government of Republic of Abkhazia was signed later that day. The protocol was signed by the prime minister of Republic of Abkhazia Alexander Ankvab and the governor of Kursk Region Alexander Mikhailov. The President of Republic of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh delivered a salutatory speech at ceremony of signing of the Protocol on intentions. He noted that experience of regions of the Russian Federation was very important for Abkhazia and cooperation with the Kursk Region, possessing high economic potential, would be very useful. Members of official delegation of Kursk Region carried on negotiations with branch ministers of Abkhazia discussed the most perspective directions of development of mutually advantageous cooperation in sphere of the industry and agriculture, education and public health services, development of tourism and youth policy, physical training and sports. “The Kursk Region gives great value to the external economic relations and with Abkhazia as well. We will try to saturate as much as possible our cooperation by concrete affairs”, - the governor of Kursk Region, Alexander Mikhailov, told. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Abkhazia organized business meeting between delegation of Kursk Region and its colleagues from Abkhazia. “Our regions have a huge potential which is necessary for mutually advantageous economic cooperation” - the President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Abkhazia, Gennady Gagulia, noted. It is necessary to note that the management of Kursk Region entirely supports the foreign policy of the Russian Federation directed on strengthening friendship, development of economic and humanitarian cooperation with Abkhazia. This visit of official delegation to Sukhum is a bright example of practical realization of this. Alexander Mikhailov expressed readiness of realization of investment projects under the offer of the Abkhazian side. “There is confectionery factory that does not operate right now, but released good production once in Abkhazia. There is a chemical factory, furniture, weaver's factories and many other things of the enterprise which we can offer to business circles from Kursk Region, and on mutually advantageous conditions to start working, - the prime minister of Republic of Abkhazia told on his behalf - We do not pursue the purpose to earn money at once, our task - to reanimate the enterprises”. Signing agreement of cooperation by heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Protocol on intentions between administration of Kursk Region and the Government of Republic of Abkhazia becomes a first step in launching development of economic cooperation between regions, establishment of close bilateral relations between Abkhazia and Kursk region.
February, 16th, 2009 – Agreement of cooperation between Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Abkhazia and Tambov Region was signed in the capital of Abkhazia, Sukhum. The signatures under the document were put by Presidents of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Republic of Abkhazia and Tambov Region Gennady Gagulia and Nikolay Kalinov. Vice-premier, Minister of Finance of Republic Abkhazia Beslan Kubrava , minister of economy Christina Ozgan as well as businessmen from Abkhazia and the Tambov Region were present at the ceremony of signing. The sides expressed the common interest in adjustment and strengthening of economic cooperation, discussed variants of possible investment of the Tambov businessmen in such spheres of economy of Abkhazia as construction and agriculture.
